Der neue Mensch [The New Man]. Four Exercises in Utopian Movements.

Concept and direction: Ole Frahm, Michael Hueners, Torsten Michaelsen spokers: Edith Adam, Rica Blunck, Thomas Kügel and Helmut Mooshammer.

Optionally in german or english.

In the framework of a performative radio play the performance group Ligna brings together four artists and visionaries of the early 20th century – Bertolt Brecht, Vsevolod Meyerhold, Rudolf von Laban and Charlie Chaplin.
In the space-choreography the audience is divided into these four positions through headphones, which they can themselves try out and check through proposed movements and gestures 'Four exercises in utopian movements' – in every sense of the word. A theatre without a stage, that initiates collective movements and makes undreamed of abilities for action visible.
The New Man
updates, spells out critically buried utopias and poses the question of the function of the stage and its movements today.

The New Man
is a production of the Hamburgian performance groupe LIGNA.
