Dave St-Pierre’s search for relationships, closeness and tenderness is wild, challenging and poetic. In Un peu de Tendresse Bordel de Merde! (2006) he works openly and with a clear style, with elements from dance and theatre, with pathos and cliché, and contrasts fragile, sensitive and vehemently powerful dance sequences. Boundaries and role clichés are explored and exploded in this biographical dancetheatre work about society and its failings, about a body that in its vulnerability opens itself up to being human. A dramaturgically finely structure tableau at the intersection of dance, theatre and performance.

INTERNATIONAL GUEST PERFORMANCE
DAVE ST-PIERRE (CAN)

With two works (La Pornographie des âmes and Un peu de Tendresse bordel de Merde!), Dave St-Pierre, who is considered an enfant terrible of the contemporary Canadian dance scene, is a guest performer in the Tanzquartier Wien in March. The two choreographies are part of an artistic trilogy about present-day utopias, about "humanity, love, life and death". He drives the bodies and his themes to the extreme, gives space to the here and now and to the immediacy of the bodies and – between harmony and stage spectacle, with desire and the knowledge of its failure – describes love as a utopia and tenderness in its impossibility.
