Three residencies with different content are announced for summer and autumn 2023 in Hörken, Ljusnarsberg.
Read about the three specific residencies, Butiken and how to apply below.
Residency for the development of choreographic work to be performed in art galleries
This residency is a collaboration between Butiken in Hörken and Örebro Konsthall and is open for professional artists in dance, choreography and performance, who want to create artistic work that can be performed in art galleries. The residency is optimal for an artist who is in the process of developing a piece or has a strong interest in working in that context. During the residency, you will get support from the staff at Örebro Konsthall regarding your artistic idea and what is good to know when working with performance in these kinds of spaces. There is also an opportunity to get support for technical adjustments of an existing piece.
Dates: 12-18th of June 2023
Residency focusing on navigating and creating strategies for one’s artistry
This is a residency for professional artists in dance, choreography and performance, focusing on navigating, placing and planning artistic work. The residency is not purely production based but aims to contextualize, process, clarify and deepen a long-term and sustainable practice for the selected artist(s). You may apply with an ongoing project or with a broader question about your artistic work and career. The residency is a co-thinking session around the artist’s work together with producers and possibly other invited guests.
The call is for one 1-week residency. During each week, we work together through conversations and workshops. Together, we will set your future goals through vision work. Designed and structured exercises will aid in navigating the field nationally and internationally and process subject-specific challenges based on needs such as: artistic process, planning and budgeting, tour adaptation and/or grant applications.
Dates: 9-14th of October 2023
Residency for producers
This is a group residency open for producers working within the performing arts. You apply with individual questions and needs, and from that, the residency gathers a group of producers to exchange experiences and co-think about the role of the producer. During the residency, you will get time for individual work to develop your own producer’s practice, as well as conversations and workshops with the group. Scheduling of our time together, including guest lectures, will be planned according to the needs we see in the applications.
Dates: 15-18th of October 2023
