Call for participants in a performance project

Walking:Holding

Walking:Holding

Tanzquartier Wien is looking for participants to take part in Walking:Holding, an experimental city walk devised by British artist Rosana Cade. What does Vienna look like from someone else’s perspective? How close can you get to someone you have just met? Walking:Holding is an award-winning project inviting people to walk around the city holding hands – a gentle exploration of identity, touch and intimacy in public space. We are explicitly looking for variety and diversity among participants, both in terms of cultural background, age and gender as well as individual needs and sexual orientation. Working languages are German and English. No prior knowledge is required. The project is wheelchair accessible.

A workshop on Sat, 1 June (during the day) and a rehearsal on Tue, 4 June (in the evening) will be held for participants in preparation for the walks.

Performance dates: Wed, 5 to Fri, 7 June 2019, from 16.00 hrs

Participants are required to attend on all five dates. Expenses will be paid for taking part in the project.

Please submit your application including a photo and a short statement explaining why the project interests you by 12 April 2019 at the latest to production@tqw.at, re: “Walking:Holding”.
