Dear audience, dear artists,
We are delighted to announce that TQW will be hosting a number of exciting guests in the upcoming months. Our dance group PARASOL, consisting of Helena Araújo, Elda Gallo, Yoh Morishita, Jennie-love Navoret, and Viltė Švarplytė, is already working on its first production. Additionally, dramaturg Jette Büchsenschütz will be joining our multifaceted theory programme as the TQW research affiliate for the next three months.
From April to June, we will deal with ghosts, conjure the canon of dance history, delve into the depths of physical memory, explore the biographic, speculate on the best order of things, and find resistance in collective lingering. All of this together with the artists Ulduz Ahmadzadeh / PARASOL, Alexandra Bachzetsis, Alix Eynaudi, Charlotte Gash, Susanne Songi Griem, Karin Pauer, Amanda Piña, Oleg Soulimenko, and Mallika Taneja.
May will be all about choreography and performance by a new generation: Lewon Heublein is curating the Rakete festival for the second year. Over four weekends, the festival showcases premieres and guest performances by local and international artists and offers a comprehensive supporting programme.
To round off the season, the Queer Performance Festival S_P_I_T_, curated by Lisa Holzinger and Denise Kottlett, will celebrate maximum queer visibility with a dense three-day program focused on pleasure activism – a festival favourite not to be missed.
