Feminist Perspectives on Health, Menstrual Rights, and Safer Spaces in Performance and Dance
What do we discuss, and what is left out when talking about health? As part of the Research Affiliation, dance and dance pedagogy students at the Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna (MUK) use various formats to explore health topics concerning them in their professional daily lives.

Through panels, impulse lectures and a concluding workshop, we look into health topics and aspects of care at the workplace, in everyday life, and in dance. The series of events sheds light on menopause and the complex handling of physical changes, menstrual rights in the workplace and the dance world, and pressing questions about period poverty. An interactive workshop facilitated by the Vienna-based collective hausgemacht and MUK students explores how to create a safe dance space.

The programme was curated by Claudia Antonica, Selin Baran, Gloria Marie-Elaine Berghäuser, Friederike Decker, Leonie Frühe, Mathea Mierl and Polina Samoidiuk. With thanks to Eike Wittrock for his guidance.
