DANZA Y FRONTERA: Bodies, Movement and Decoloniality

Lecture conversation

What is the relation between borders and coloniality? Which types of body does modernity/ contemporaneity promote? Which movement practices resist the colonial matrix of power? What are the hidden scores of modernity? What is a mestizo body? What is a Dance of Conquest? What has not been creolised?

In this lecture conversation, Nicole Haitzinger and Rolando Vázquez deal with decolonial thought applied to bodies and movement, and contemplate dance as a form of resistance.

Moderation: Amanda Piña

Tip: Within the scope of TQW Explore / The Ecstatic Body the panel talk Cultural Appropriation within the Arts will take place at 16.00 at TQW Studios.
