With his self-titled solo project, Stefan Grimus draws on contemporary concert practices as well as the fringes of pop music. In his work, electronic textures and his singing voice merge with pieces for electric guitar, creating images and moods reminiscent of faded memories and cinematic scenarios.
Stefan Grimus
is a composer and performer based in Vienna. He is studying composition at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna and has studied Sociology in Vienna and Berlin. His work is grounded in the subculture aesthetics of experimental club and guitar-based music, whose musical parameters and structures are extended through contemporary classical music strategies. Stefan Grimus is co-founder of the concert format Daily Special.
