Menstrual Freedom and Justice

Let’s talk about menstruation! Statistically, around two billion people menstruate every month. While talking about it still evokes reactions of shame, disgust, and mystification, there’s also a massive chorus fighting for menstrual freedom and justice. Dedicating this space to Núria Capella, a dancer researching menstruation in dance, and Bettina Steinbrugger, founder of erdbeerwoche, a vibrant voice in Austria’s menstrual rights fight, means being part of this movement. After a short input from both, we will discuss menstruation in dance, the rights of menstruating individuals in the workplace, and the pressing issue of period poverty.

Hosted by Gloria Marie-Elaine Berghäuser and Friederike Decker.
