SCORES THAT SHAPED OUR FRIENDSHIP
SCORES THAT SHAPED OUR FRIENDSHIP is about togetherness, about a love for detail and about fun. In a humorous, gentle and very sensual dance, Lucy Wilke, who was born with spinal muscular atrophy and uses a wheelchair, and Paweł Duduś explore what one’s own and the other body is, and the way we perceive, hear and feel it, thereby questioning stereotypes as well as normative perceptions in society and culture. They illustrate how their friendship, shaped by poetry and sensuality, is a force that can push boundaries.
In direct interaction with Kim Twiddle’s live music, the intimate portrait of a poetic friendship in seven chapters is created between the mixing desk and a landscape of mattresses. SCORES THAT SHAPED OUR FRIENDSHIP respects diversity, celebrates non-normativity and gives insight into an alternative way of living and being.
‘Together, we focus on embodiment – the embodiment of the atypical. We embody our memories, our dreams, and our wishes. We embody beauty. We are beautiful.’ – Lucy Wilke, Paweł Duduś and Kim Twiddle
