TQW DOC

Summer Term 2020

+++ The sessions on 07 May and on 04 June will be held on Zoom. Send e-mail for access code to Christina Gillinger +++

TQW DOC is an interdisciplinary, interuniversity post-grad forum on the subjects of choreography, performance, body, art and politics at Tanzquartier Wien. In the redesigned library at the Studios, TQW provides time and space once a month to network with colleagues from other disciplines and other institutions. Besides exchanging methods and conceptual work on terminology, those attending can present their own research projects and put them up for discussion.

So far, the following have signed up and/or have been involved in devising the event: students from the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, the University of Applied Arts Vienna, the University of Art and Design Linz, the University of Salzburg | Dance Studies and the University of Vienna, as well as from Belgrade, Bratislava, Berlin, Hamburg, Helsinki, Stockholm, London, and Giessen.

Thu 07 May, 17.00
Michaela Glanz, Art | Research | Support of the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna will talk about dos and don’ts in building an academic career.

Thu 04 June, 17.00
In Iris Julia*n Gütler‘s lecture, questions of historiographic approaches will be discussed: „In this lecture, questions of historiographic approaches will be discussed: For this purpose, we will discuss what kind of conception(s) might be applied in order to work with the phenomenon of causalities, among others – following French philosopher Michel Foucault – we will discuss the way in which an opening of the space between cause and effect can be made possible in the course of an evaluation.“

Participation is free of charge. For more information and registration for presentations, please contact Christina Gillinger: cgillinger@tqw.at
