Words Don’t Come Easy
The three theory curators at Tanzquartier Wien, Thomas Edlinger, Janez Janša and Janine Jembere, will host a curated panel discussion in response to the thematic focus word, which reflects on the diverse interrelations between dance and performance and text and language. Following a brief presentation by Slovenian theorist and academic Alja Lobnik, which will include a short historical overview, artist and professor Carola Dertnig, choreographer Christine Gaigg, visual artist and choreographer Philipp Gehmacher, artist and performer Andrea Maurer, performance artist Jen Rosenblit and artist and publisher Nicole Suzuki will come together to discuss the diverse, general and specific cases of language being used in choreography and performance.
