This training runs from 22 till 25 May 2018.

awareness by gravity is based on my long-standing research – inspired by various somatic approaches and release techniques – into matters of efficiency and ease of alignment and movement. Starting from a primary focus on the bones and joints, and trusting in the inherent intelligence of the body, we explore ways of using gravity in order to straighten the body and move it groundedly and centredly, based on simple patterns of movement and predefined sequences both on the floor and standing up.

Through in-depth exploration of the connections between body parts and/or body structures, we look into the possibility of letting go of excess tension (particularly) in the (superficial) musculature, so as to rebalance the equilibrium of the locomotor system and become centred. At the end of the class we will translate the principles examined into a choreography and enjoy the clarity and transparency of the flow of movement we have gained.
