Training/Open Level
Tobias M. Draeger (DE)

Body Trust

Tobias M. Draeger,

originally from Germany, is a nomadic-based artist working across the boundaries of dance, physical theatre and osteopathy. His works often deal with the physicality of both performer and audience, the manipulation of objects and materials, and the development of intuitional relations with and between audience members. Draeger’s practice is guided by his ongoing fascination with the aftermath of perceptions, the connection to objects, the hunger for focus, the love for the absence of theatrical light and absurd humour in our world.

Draeger studied dance at the Vienna Conservatory and SEAD in Salzburg, and osteopathy at the International Academy of Osteopathy (IAO) in Gent. He holds a Master degree in Performance and Arts Studies from the Icelandic University of Arts in Reykjavík.

Body Trust

Body Trust is a physical training where nothing has to be forced or to be pushed but lived. Where small and huge movements, where silence and sweat can meet. A physical training influenced by my osteopathy approach consisting of hands-on techniques as well as solo and partner work. And a physical movement training inspired by my company work with the Draeger u.Co collective and Quan Bui Ngoc / les ballets C de la B. It is an invitation to feel accepted. A physical invitation for human beings who want to move: movers, actors, dancers, visual artists. The training creates a place of freedom around yourself to connect to your intuitive thinking. It centers and sensitizes you to your individual needs, to the needs of the group, to the needs of the space, to the needs of our society. An invitation to a vivid space where the perfect combination of tension and integrity may exist: tensegrity.
