Contemporary Ballet

Generally, my focus is on passing on techniques of classical ballet with a sense for dynamic movement, extension, lightness and joy.

Key aspects are:

  • stabilisation, centralisation and, consequently, the optimisation of the body’s main axes
  • adjusting the body to the right amount of tension and ideal strength needed for the exercises
  • being aware of the own body’s condition and of how to breathe while exercising
  • assistance during the exercises, which are suited for and applied to each body individually
  • contemporary teaching style informed by current theories on dance education and dance medicine

Gradually intensified barre work will help the body to develop the strength and technique needed for training before finally learning to dance and experience ballet combinations in space. By joyfully and consciously performing the exercises the body will automatically learn to strive for and maintain a precise technique while moving.
