This is a physical contemporary class, which will involve strong, complex and technical sequences in and out of the floor, focusing on quality, initiation, performance and stamina. Throughout the sessions, improvisation will also be explored as part of self-development, stemming from a physical intention.
was founded in 2014 by sisters Kristina and Sadé Alleyne. Their aesthetic reflects their diverse background of athleticism and dance training. Alleyne Dance blends Afro-Caribbean, Hip Hop, Kathak, Latin and Circus Skills within a contemporary dance context. Their movement is fast paced and dynamic with infusions of lyrical and fluid motion, with a focus on rhythms and textures. Over the past five years they have built and developed the company, striving for high quality and excellence as they deliver their two main objectives: performance and education work.
worked together with Akram Khan Company creating and performing his productions Vertical Road, iTMOi, Kaash and the London 2012 Olympics Opening Ceremony. She continues to lead workshops internationally as part of A.K.C.T and is part of the re-staging of his past productions. Kristina and Sadé joined Wim Vandekeybus Ultima Vez Company in 2018 for the new production TrapTown and GFYO. In terms of education, Alleyne Dance has worked with Shift Youth Company (UK), Disha Dance (IN), K’Arts (KR), Impulstanz (AT), Codarts (BE), Jeune Ballet Calabash (FR), Dance4 CAT (UK), SEAD (AT), to name a few.
