With DYS_FUNCTIONAL BODIES the Viennese choreographer and performer Georg Blaschke invites guests from his artistic collaborations to a focused confrontation with his personal approaches to choreographic thinking and somatic practice.
Guests of the first week are Michael Turinsky (AT) and Eva Schaller (AT). Tomaž Simatović (SI) and Katharina Senk (AT) are to follow as guests of the second week.
Georg Blaschke and his guests will be opening an artistic and methodological discourse, interweaving approaches and, together with the participants, turning norms and normalities upside down.
“Over the last few years, I have developed a form of sculptural thinking in my choreographic research, based on both the practice of somatic methods – primarily the Feldenkrais method – and on phenomenological concepts of the visual arts dealing with the body and its alienation. Working closely together with artistic collaborators in the choreographic process has constantly refined, questioned and expanded my own body practice”, says Georg Blaschke.
