Embodied Echoes

Resense Resonance in Queer Pleasure
Aaron Josi Sternbauer

works as a transdisciplinary artist and pedagogue in the fields of movement, music (with a focus on voice/experimental vocal art), and visual arts. They blend voice and movement without genre restrictions and use instant composition and improvisation as working tools. They focus on exploring multi-sensorial performance settings, emphasising different approaches to sensing, queerness, and community work.

Crystal Wall

is a cross-disciplinary artist based in Vienna. With a tentacular way of thinking, Crystal touches on the space between performance and singing, poetry and ritual, folk culture and queerness. Their sonorous explorations emphasise wicked pitches and multi-modulated voices, challenging conventional perceptions of sound and narrative. Crystal relates (alpine) folk customs to queerness and infuses them with a pleasurable transformation process until new performative rituals emerge. Through embodied polyphony and collective storytelling, their work unravels aqueous poetic soundings and luring chants.

Embodied Echoes

Resense Resonance in Queer Pleasure

This workshop as part of S_P_I_T  – Queer Performance Festival Vienna explores the dynamic interplay between sensing, pleasure, boundaries, and the alignment of voice and movement. Participants will explore the rich tapestry of their voices, bodies, and memories, engaging in a dialogue with the past and envisioning shared futures. Through embodied utterances and musicking, we delve into circular narratives, seeking to spill over, sustain, and re-pitch our shared sonic landscapes.

We want to explore the interconnectedness of our bodies, pleasure, and voice, offering participants an embodied approach to self-expression and becoming/resonating with. How does a joyous reverberation of a community sound that arises from a soft polyphony?
