Embodied Storytelling

Research Workshop

Embodied Storytelling is a research workshop from 3 to 7 February as part of Ian Kaler’s new solo UNLIKELY PLACES. Together with film and video artist Dafne Narvaez Berlfein, Kaler and the participants will explore elements of Kaler’s movement practice in conjunction with live text overlays, voice-over and video in a rehearsal setting designed by Stephanie Rauch. Central to the research are questions of embodiment and (non-)verbal narration as well as timing and rhythm of the various media and choreographic levels. The Open Call is aimed at professional artists with performance experience and good physical awareness. Attendance on all five afternoons is a prerequisite.
