Corine Sombrun

has been recognized by shamans of the Mongolian highlands as one of their own in 2001. She has been trained for many years in their rituals and trance techniques by a shaman of the Tsaatan ethnic group. Thanks to her experience in the practice of trance and her ability to induce it only by her willpower, she has been collaborating with different researchers from various fields since 2006. The goal is to discover the physiological mechanisms related to this state of trance and its influence on the functioning of the cerebral hemispheres.

Folktrance Workshop

In this workshop we will practice states of being moved. Moving and expressing yourself from a state of flow, instead of active moving. Everybody knows those moments when the head comes in and blocks us with judgement and overthinking from free flowing, improvising, spontaneity and trusting our intuition. What we offer is the practice of surrendering to the intelligence and wisdom of the body in order to find the way to our full creative potential (regardless of your profession). This is the state where self-judgement, overthinking and blockages are replaced by self-empowerment, flow and mindfulness. The way we will get there is through folk and trance. The folk aspect comes in by using a variety of existing and spontaneous folk dances. Another form of Folktrance practice we will use is „cognitive trance“. A practice developed by Corine Sombrun, which has its roots in Mongolian shamanism and aims to discover the trance potential in everyone of us. You will learn how to initiate and stop the trance state by self-induction and we will show you how to use it for your personal benefits and creative processes in your job, your private life etc.
