Mada for dancers
Mada (the expanse or the depth) for dancers is a creative and rigorous physical training for professional and semi-professional dancers inspired by my own choreographic work and regular training.
Based on exercises and postures from my personal daily training (physical endurance and yoga), we will gently awaken the body before we will focus on vertical standing, movement qualities and body states. The training will give you tools to trigger your own creativity, which will help you build and develop your own movements, phrases, sequences etc.
is a choreographer and performer born in Beirut to a Palestinian mother and a Lebanese father. Nancy studied Theatre, Performing Arts and Dance in Beirut and Paris where she started to develop her personal work around the resonance of violence in the body – in all its forms – and founded her company 4120.CORPS (the number 4120 refers to the distance in kilometers between Beirut and Paris). Nancy’s work oscillates between dance and theatre and is influenced by gestures, rituals and rhythms from Arab societies. She is currently working on a performance based on testimonies of mothers and wives of missing persons from the Lebanese civil war (1975-1990).
