Morning Practice
For the Monday Morning Practice, dancer and choreographer Anna Maria Nowak proposes a routine consisting of two main parts: an invigorating cardio section followed by a focus and release cool down. The overall aim of the class is to develop a strong kinaesthetic consciousness combined with an active build-up of stamina, in other words providing the participants with everything they need for the day’s/week’s labour. The class is easy to follow and balances the physical exertion with sensing and releasing exercises. In this training you are invited to feel the blood rushing through your veins, feel the wind on your face and then immerse yourself into your very self.
is a freelance artist living and working in Vienna. She was born in Poland where she studied Scandinavian Studies at the University of Gdańsk. She received her dance education at the Anton Bruckner Privatuniversität in Linz, Austria. In 2005 she moved to Vienna, where she began her collaboration with Elio Gervasi and Liquid Loft/Chris Haring. She is a co-founder of Kunstverein Archipelago, The Loose Collective and Arbeitsplatz Wien. In her own work and collaborations Anna Maria Nowak is investigating the interplay between thought, sensation and movement and exploring notions such as displacement, synaesthesia and metaphor.
Through working with artists such as Chris Haring and Gerhard Eckel she has developed a passion for merging movement with sound, looking for stage situations, where one cannot exist without the other. Anna Maria Nowak has been a guest teacher at Anton Bruckner Privatuniversität in Linz, ImPulsTanz and Tanzquartier Wien.
This training runs from 17 September till 29 October. No training on 8 October.
