Workshop for Dancers

Exploring the self through the other. In this workshop we will use principles and mechanics of partnering and contact improvisation to develop an understanding of how our bodies relate to objects, subjects and the space around us. How can we use obstacles or bodies to broaden our range of possibilities? How can we create variety out of limitations? These tools will be applied to our movement vocabulary. We will learn how to identify body textures in partnering and translate them to movement.
