Tobias M.
Draeger,

originally from Germany, is a nomadic-based artist working across the boundaries of dance, physical theatre and osteopathy. His works often deal with the physicality of both performer and audience, the manipulation of objects and materials, and the development of intuitional relations with and between audience members. Draeger’s practice is guided by his ongoing fascination with the aftermath of perceptions, the connection to objects, the hunger for focus, the love for the absence of theatrical light and absurd humour in our world.

Draeger studied dance at the Vienna Conservatory and SEAD in Salzburg, and osteopathy at the International Academy of Osteopathy (IAO) in Gent. He holds a Master degree in Performance and Arts Studies from the Icelandic University of Arts in Reykjavík.

This workshop runs from 18 to 20 December 2018.

Price: € 60/30

An invitation without the compulsion to do something. A place to confront yourself. Where overstrained and desensitized senses can find a space of retreat. An invitation to spend time in another way, in another environment. Here. Together and alone.

Drawing upon osteopathic, choreographic, social, caring and healing strategies, I have been researching for more than five years as an artist and an osteopath on the role of touch in encounters between the audience, the performers and their environment. In this workshop, touch is to be understood in the wider sense. We will work on the specific practices of listening, care and synchronicity to activate and encourage individual and group care as well as an increased sensitivity, awareness and intimacy between the audience, the performers and the space.

This coaching workshop is based on a non-verbal body feedback method – for you, your duet or collective. It will feed your focus, allow your weaknesses, support your strengths and dispel your restrictions and doubts. To focus the best way possible on our work, this workshop will be divided into group and single sessions.
