Slippery States of Being
A guided experience exploring a breadth of possibilities within imagination and movement, our relationships to space, spontaneous feelings and giving in to the moment. This class will be approached as a discovery of qualities and connections – within our bodies and to others. Continuously in motion for the first hour, we will move through states of being and embodied textures, building warmth and sensitivity. In the spirit of celebration, our personal curiosities are entertained through improvisation and eventual partner work. Looking at how we approach dance and from what intention, this class aims to encourage individuality in the interpretation of movement – allowing the exploration of imagination while aiming for specificity in the experience of it.
born and raised in Detroit and based in Vienna, is in motion internationally as a movement artist, performer, and curator, building upon her personal history of encountering dance and being inspired by collaborations with colleagues and artists. After graduating from The Juilliard School, many years a member of Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch and collaborator of Dimitris Papaioannou, Breanna currently freelances with Liquid Loft, choreographs performance pieces, and recently initiated Pop Up Moves in Vienna. In 2009, Breanna founded Detroit Arts Immersion, bringing communities free access to the arts.
