Strategizing, No, Taking Leave
This is a workshop open to all who are curious about using improvisation to approach ideas of compositional gathering across many mediums and genres though the body will be the main material we deal with. We will stumble into, return to and craft ideas surrounding proposals of the exit, taking leave and disappearance. Each has their own map, traversing the cavity of the imagined or missing body as a landmark. We will tangentially replace content in hopes of locating meaning. At times our grids will align but we will do most of our tangential thinking in the off moments and spaces. Hosting these discords will potentially make fertile various, varying and alternating routes toward fantasizing what presence can look and feel like. We will spend the week collecting things which navigate the dilemma of wanting to be here and also contemplating our departure. Like detectives, we will look for clues, following the trail and possibly leaving behind our own.
