The Sounding Jaw
This workshop is an artistic invitation: communication, voice and body are induced to function as a unit. After a jaw-release training that relaxes the entire body in a holistic way, we use performance to playfully explore life issues, moods and spaces inside and outside our body.
The jaw, the temporomandibular joint, the mouth, the teeth, the muscles of the surrounding anatomical areas – they are all connected to all other joints and organs. The temporomandibular joint serves as a metaphor for life: sustenance, communication, movement – if you can let go of the jaw, you can let yourself go.
The workshop is aimed at performers who are ready to experiment with their voice, with spaces and with the body.
launched Jaw and Body Release in 2018. She studied choreography and new techniques of interpretation at the Institut del Teatre in Barcelona. Her background as a choreographer, performer and dentist provides her with the knowledge, freedom, and creativity to include the temporomandibular joint in a training programme for performers. To her, breathing is a means of being. Living and working in Berlin, she holds international workshops on composition and performance techniques.
