Contemporary Training

This floor-work based training is reflecting the techniques and practices my body has passed through and remained attentive to – with inspiration from e. g. peers of my generation like Bruno Caverna – mixed with own choreographic explorations, and the current practice I do as a dancer with Alexander Gottfarb in Negotiations at the TQW Filiale (Neustiftgasse 31).

Focusing on the distribution of gravity between the floor and which places in and outside the body we chose to give attention, movement sequences are scrolled, scratched and negotiated in time. To enhance this spatio-temporal play, Patric Redl is joining us to practice and think with us through music.

The training is a physically strengthening class that prepares you for rehearsals. The training at the same time aims to give you a meta-cognitive ride for stretching, bending and creatively misusing your habits and memory. Nerdy exploration of how you want to attend movement and how you want to approach learning is welcome!
