ViennaSchoolOFF is an experimental project within the T&E group. It suggests an indirect relationship to the Vienna Circle (Wiener Kreis) and the Viennese School (Wiener Schule). This “Vienna School” is, also pointing at the lack of post gradual education in the field of choreography in Austria and aims to play with the gap of this shortage.
Feedback/Training Vol. 1
Mon 02 – Thu 05 Nov & Mon 09 – Thu 12 Nov, 10.00–12.00 (including feedback)
During eight days, the contemporary training at TQW is expanded with peer-to-peer feedback on training. Based on the class of each day – led by four teaching artists selected via open call: Bianca Braunesberger, Lisa Bunderla, Imani Rameses, Tomaž Simatović – different methodologies and approaches to learning are observed, explored and mirrored through concepts like flow, dynamic or play. The initiative was originally planned to be open to anyone interested in investigating dance training and their own relation to learning. Due to Covid-19, we unfortunately have to limit the participation in accordance with TQW regulations. The feedback is facilitated by Wiener Perspektive Training & Education Group in collaboration with the respective teachers.
The three days following the eight days of training and feedback will present the opportunity to reflect on and process the previous experiences, while they will also mark the beginning of a whole new chapter. Based on the experiences from Be/Well/Come at TQW in 2018 and the three-day session VSOFF Mentoring – Summer Edition at ToZmia in August 2020, we will develop games, establish a dialogue and share oracle-like experiences in order to continue our conversation from the previous days of training. The motto will be “chinses whispers”, a process in which the elements of previous experiences will be revisited by means of a dynamic that involves active reception, translation and creative misunderstandings. These three days will include excursions, small group activities at TQW studios, and also a social event at the end of our course with guests from the dance and performance scene (all events and activities will adhere to the current Covid-19 regulations).
The structure of the three days will take into account Covid-19 restrictions as well as allow everyone interested to participate according to their individual availabilities. Therefore, the final programme will be announced to all participants after the registration deadline.
