During the workshop I will share my ongoing choreographic research concerning the interaction between human and non-human bodies, specifically between human bodies and their environment. By bringing the awareness to fluids in and around us, we connect to the systems through which communication with and transformation of internal and external environments occur. Fluids are connecting elements. Fluids are like touches; they cause exchanges between bodies, allow bodies to merge into each other, make boundaries fluid or reveal differences. What performativity do they reveal, what kind of dances? How to choreograph fluidity? What scores, poems and imaginatives support a flow? What can we learn from nature-cultures around and within us?
The workshop is related to Sabina Holzer’s morning practice. It is therefore recommended to attend them together.
is a performance artist, author and movement facilitator. Her performances and texts immerse in the ecologies of human and more-than-human bodies and agencies. Advocating gestures of poetry and care, she connects to a field of various international artists and theoreticians. With them and together with the artist Jack Hauser she develops collaborative artistic research settings, performances and interventions for public spaces, galleries, museums and theatres. Sabina is certified in SIB and Core Strength Vinyasa Yoga. She teaches and mentors in various institutions and productions. Her texts are published in different medias since 2007. For her project Fluvial on fluids of human bodies and cityscapes she holds an artistic research grant from the city of Vienna for 2022.
