Contemporary Training

It’s no coincidence that for many dancers, ballet is a useful basic training: you know what you get, it’s demanding on many levels, it feels good during class and especially afterwards. At the same time, it’s a language that unites dancers, building collective awareness in the most diverse constellations. Apart from these aspects, this class focuses on passing on techniques of classical ballet with a sense for dynamic movement, extension, lightness and joy.

  • Key aspects are:
  • stabilisation, centralisation and, consequently, the optimisation of the body’s main axes
  • adjusting the body to the right amount of tension and ideal strength needed for the exercises
  • being aware of the own body’s condition and of how to breathe while exercising
  • assistance during the exercises, which are suited for and applied to each body individually
  • contemporary teaching style informed by current theories on dance education and dance medicine
