Contemporary Dance Classes
Within a clear structure this class will take us towards a fluidity of movement, training presence and awareness – starting with simple exercises, wakening up the sensibilisation of the body in movement, leading up to more complex and dynamic sequences. With guided exercises as well as improvisational tasks we will explore the functionality of body parts, anatomical structures such as the skeleton or muscles which results in effectivity in movement and a sense of flow. Aspects that we will play with are an investigation of joints as places of movement, the concept of volume, activating our senses and listening to one self in relation to one’s surrounding, useful use of weight, dynamics and clarity of movement. The exercises and movement patterns will be adjusted so that participants can dance and train in a smaller place.
studied at the Ballet Academy of the Vienna State Opera and at Codarts Rotterdam. During and after her studies she worked with Emio Greco and Anouk van Dijk, in Vienna with Christine Gaigg at Impulstanz, steirischer herbst, Wien Modern, Schauspielhaus Wien, Tanzquartier Wien. Recently she has worked with Sabine Glenz and the Munich Philharmony.
She developed her own choreographic projects at residencies in Athens, at Dansateliers Rotterdam and D.ID. The solo Vestris 4.0 was presented at Imagetanz 2018 (brut Wien), the performance What we hold inside (2019) in Austria and Slovenia. In 2019 she was invited as a scholarship holder at the Akademie der Künste, Berlin, to the campus “Dance Heritage Today”. The yearbook „tanz“ (Berlin) refers to her as a bearer of hope 2019. Eva Schaller teaches Countertechnique across Europe since 2016.
