PARASOL – a dance group of TQW
PARASOL is a newly formed dance group at Tanzquartier Wien (TQW). Each year, a group of five emerging dancers and performers will get the opportunity to work with two choreographers on two dance pieces to be developed and performed at TQW.
PARASOL is a paid further training programme for young artists to experience and benefit from not only a three months rehearsal period with each of the choreographers, but also to further educate themselves in exchange with each other, the choreographers and programmers. In addition to that, they can attend all kind of events offered at TQW: performances, body and performance practices and theory lectures.
Since its inception in 2001, Tanzquartier Wien has counted among the most influential dance centres in Europe. It focuses on dance and performance in its most contemporary forms.
The first two working periods in 2022 will be directed by the artists and choreographers Ian Kaler and Alix Eynaudi.
Eligibility:
To take part in the 2022 PARASOL course you must:
- Be a professional dance artist under 35 years
- Be available for the two working periods in Vienna:
17 January until 24 April 2022
AND
19 September until 18 December 2022
Payment:
Tanzquartier Wien offers an employment to all participants during the courses:
